Multifaceted entrepreneur-teacher-coach-leader. My mission is to foster leadership development and nurture educational growth by cultivating the potential within individuals.
In college, I majored in International Relations because it combined my 3 favorite disciplines: Psychology, Economics, and Political Science. I traveled abroad as an exchange student, which kickstarted my lifelong affair with exploring and learning about other cultures, peoples, and ways of life.
Instead of joining the Peace Corps, I accepted a job to teach English in Korea where I lived for 4 years and explored a variety of paths. I freelanced as a voice-over actor for english-language children's educational shows, an international radio news correspondent, and as a salesman for organic food-products and cosmetics at conventions; I had my first foray into the entrepreneurial field with a college consultancy I co-founded; I helped broker business deals between European and Korean companies in the shipbuilding industry; and I eventually opened a new restaurant in Bali, Indonesia in 2018 that is still running today.
In addition to my "hard skills," what are some of the "soft skills" that I bring to the table?
My keen insights into people's skills and organizational needs make me an ideal strategist and leader.
My innovation process uses a mix of logic, reason, creativity, and salesmanship in order to optimize situations.
Collaboration is an essential component of success for me since good teamwork is what executes ideas.
I focus more on the outcome rather than the process because this allows for quicker iterations.
I've worked as a teacher, consultant, salesman, radio dj, business owner, and much more. Each of these experiences help to inform my thinking process and designs.
Through it all, the one common denominator was always education. I have an insatiable curiosity about things and will never stop learning. I've had to start from the beginning as a novice countless times, so the process of "learning, unlearning, and then relearning" (per Alvin Toffler's theory in Future Shock) has become second nature to me.
